In October 2010, Fate and Becton, Dickinson and Company (BD) entered into a collaboration to jointly develop and commercialize certain induced pluripotent stem cell (iPSC) tools and technologies for drug discovery and development.  The aim of the three-year collaboration is to co-develop certain stem cell reagent products using Fate’s award-winning iPSC technology platform, which BD will commercialize on a worldwide basis.  Specifically, Fate and BD are working together to provide life science researchers and the pharmaceutical community with reliable access to advanced iPSC tools and technologies for use in human disease research, drug discovery and development, and the manufacture of cell-based therapies.
