Kamal Adawi is Chief Financial Officer at Fate Therapeutics and is responsible for finance, accounting, investor relations and business development. Before joining Fate, he served as CFO of Mindera Health. Prior to that role, he was CFO and Corporate Secretary of Exagen Inc., where he led the company through a successful IPO and oversaw its transition to a public entity while continuing to scale the company. Mr. Adawi also held the CFO role at Pathway Genomics, as well as other financial leadership positions at Becton Dickinson, GenMark Dx and Digirad Corporation, contributing to capital strategy, financial operations, and long-term growth initiatives. Mr. Adawi has over 20 years of financial leadership experience, including more than 10 years as a CFO. He received his M.S. in Finance from San Diego State University, his M.B.A. from Oakland University, and a B.A. in Finance from Michigan State University. He serves on the Board Committee of the San Diego Bowl Game Association for the Holiday Bowl and is an Ambassador at Sports San Diego for the Rady Children’s Invitational college basketball tournament.
